Colonial Cousins, a popular crossover/fusion act, were the first Indian band to be featured on MTV Unplugged. Its lead singers, Hariharan (Hari) and Leslie Lewis (Lezz), are versatile artistes. Together, as “Colonial Cousins” their unique brand of music seamlessly fuses Indian and Western musical genres. Their first album instantly won the hearts of young and old alike. The album hit platinum in sales in India alone and consistently busted the Indian music charts in 1996. The band went on to win the MTV Asia Viewers' Choice Award, 1996, and the US Billboard's Viewers' Award, 1996. On 19 November 1998, the Colonial Cousins released their much-awaited second album, "The Way We Do It", which created record sales too. The year 2006 coincides with the 10th year since the creation of “Colonial Cousins”.

The tour of Australia is part of the “Colonial Cousins 10th Year Revival Tour”. Their music, which appeals to young and old alike, includes a unique blend of Indian classical, western pop, Indian pop and semi-classical idioms.

In FIMA 2006, Hariharan also presents a Ghazal concert
